Dissident indie-rock with a foot in the hardcore realm, and a hint or two of emo, Austin's We Talked About Murder deliver a chilling, abrasive indie-rock sound that is anything but easy to swallow. The screaming, the lack of melody, and the hook-less presentation make you work for it; you can't just put this disc in and instantly love it. You have to listen to it, be in the mood, and crank it loud. But, after a few times, your defenses will be down and it will hit you. I'll give it a B-.
