Redwood
Saltbox single

By: Author Unknown

After hearing all the hype, the great reviews, and general excitement surrounding Redwood, I thought what the heck, and picked up this single. After listening to it continuously for a while, I've come to one conclusion, their pretty good! Not outstanding, not breathe taking or the next big thing, but pretty well.

The first song starts with some weird Jamaican percussion, or something, but after the first few seconds, you're supplied with the secure sound of a slightly distorted guitar. A nice, easy, mid speed song, as I said before, nothing that's gonna knock you of your feet, but its pretty good.

The next track, 'In Time' starts with a mellow guitar piece, which generally continues through out the rest of the song. The vocals are a lot mellower than the first song, deeper, more melody.

The final track to this single, is titled 'Man In The Blue Suit'. Again starts with a slowish mellow guitar, melodic vocals, slightly depressed sounding vocals, nice. In my opinion this is the best song out of the lot, just a nice middle between the styles of the two other songs.

This bands not for someone looking for some fast, heavily distorted band, nor for someone who just wants to listen to mindless oasis and blur all day. It's for someone, who wants to listen to laid back, intelligent, catchy music.

So, Redwood then, is pretty good.
