Agathocles/Black Army Jacket Split 7" (Def American) By: Jeb Branin
You would think that after releasing tens of thousands of split 7"ers that AGATHOCLES would begin to get stale. To slack off. To become generic. You would think... but you would be wrong. If anything they are fine tuning their mincecore mania, honing the edge, making it even more deadly. This split certainly bears evidence to that fact. BLACK ARMY JACKET also are in fine form churning out two very different tunes. The first is pure grindcore, ripping and shredding. The second is more of a dissonant hardcore number with dual vocals and guitars that sound like they have been worked too hard and are ready to collapse. The contrast between the two numbers says volumes for the BAJ's diversity.
