Pick Up Your Soul 7" (Junk Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Etched on the B-Side to this 7" are the words "John Elway jerks off to this record," while the A-Side maintains that this is "rock 'n' roll from Denver." Their press material claims the band is fueled by: "Booze, strip joints, prostitutes, and broken hearts." Just from this information alone you know this is going to be some punk you can fuck too. And that is exactly what this is. The A-side ("Pick Up Your Soul") and the B-Sides ("Heaven Sent and "Who's Who Of Love") are all knock-you-on-your-ass punk tunes that are as dirty as they are fun. This isn't clean family fun, but this is rock 'n' roll the way it should be. Plus, it comes on cute purple vinyl (I'm sure they're gonna love me for using the word cute in conjunction with their music...'cause besides the purple see through vinyl, there's nothing cute here). I'll give it a B.
