Naive
Post Alcoholic Anxieties (Kool Arrow Records)

By: Jeb Branin

Hailing from Mother Russia, this drunk punk outfit blasts it thick, fast and loud. There is nothing really innovative in their approach but innovation and this style of music are pretty much mutually exclusive so no real loss there. They have a supremely snotty attitude and they manage to let it show through the Russian they sing all but a few of the songs in. I've said it before and I will say it again that I like it when non-English speaking bands sing in their native tongue and so NAIVE score big on that front with me. NAIVE are quite a bit more heavy handed in their delivery than a lot of punk outfits and it allows their songs to pack more of a punch and allow them to not be burdened with too much of an oi! flavor.
