Peacocks In Without Knockin' (Jump Up! Records) By: Geoff Melton
If The Clash ever had a jam session with The Stray Cats, the end results would probably resemble in without knockin', the latest disc from Switzerland's Peacocks. With the exception of "Fleamarket and "Let's Rock", a couple of cuts strongly reminiscent of Billy Bragg, this trio meshes raw, ska-tinged punk with upright bass-driven rockabilly beats and high energy choruses, resulting in one of the freshest sounding releases these ears have heard this year.
