Lock Up
Pleasures Pave Sewers (Nuclear Blast)

By: Jeb Branin

Some things in this world are a given and if you take Jesse and Shane from NAPALM DEATH, Nick from CRADLE OF FILTH/DIMMU BORGIR and Peter from HYPOCRISY and put them in a band together whose purpose is to create truly harsh death metal, it is a given that they are going to be amazing. And so they are. LOCK UP was formed in an attempt to violently counteract the wimpiness of so many MTV palatable so called "extreme" bands and remind the world what "brutal" music is supposed to sound like. "Pleasures Pave Sewers" is everything intended and more. This isn't a bunch of old farts going through the motions just for the sake of being able to do it, this is the real thing. Raw production, severe delivery and unrelenting power make this CD about as subtle as a meat cleaver to the throat. There is absolutely nothing tame here. The MTV brainwashed masses who think they know what "extreme" music is will be reduced to tears and running to their mommies if they dare to attempt the musical massacre of LOCK UP. The likelihood of this CD ever being accepted by the masses or found palatable by the mainstream is so small that even thinking about it makes me laugh. This is the real underground and you better know what to expect before you try it if you want to survive.
