Glassjaw Everything You Wanted To Know About Silence (Roadrunner Records) By: Alex Steininger
Barely-in-their-20's, Glassjaw climb on the hard rock/heavy metal bandwagon created by Korn and label head honcho/producer Ross Robinson. A sound Robinson is all too famous for creating, Glassjaw add their name to the list of imitators and followers by creating a generic heavy, hard rock album a la Korn. When Korn did it, it was original, innovative, and unique. Now its become as common as swing bands after the swing craze, punk rockers when Green Day hit, and all the other trends that get beaten to death while in the midst of their prime. Though, it wouldn't be that bad if they added something to the sound or tried to create their own path. However, they don't. They follow Korn like lost puppies or children who behave in hopes of their parents buying them the toy they want. As such, their done-to-death sound mirrors all the other clones and adds nothing to the over blown trend. I'll give it a D.
