Kind of Like Spitting
Old Moon in the Arms of the New (Jealous Butcher/Hush)

By: Alex Steininger

Old Moon in the Arms of the New is a soft, melodic indie rock record and a singer-songwriter album. Incorporating elements of both, Kind of Like Spitting deliver an eerily soft, shaking rock record that will eat away at you with its subtle quiet-ness and then its abrupt rock that, although timid and fragile, still manages to be forceful enough to make a dent in you. Concentrate on the words and the music will flow along with you. Concentrate on the music and ignore the words, and things will seem out-of-place and sketchy. A great record as a complete package, but too weak to stand on its own otherwise. And I mean that as a good thing. I'll give it a B+.
