Benjamins The Art of Disappointment (Drive Thru Records) By: Alex Steininger
Shallow, simplistic lyrics with not much to say, the Benjamins deliver watered down, forced pop hooks and un-enthused pop-punk on The Art of Disappointment, a truly apt title for this band. The record has its moments, especially for the first few listens. Don't get me wrong. The music is tight and punchy, with hooks forced upon you at every turn. After a few listens, though, it gets old. And fast. Plus, the vocals are semi-annoying, gnawing at you with each listen until you can't take it anymore. I'll give this record a C-.
