 On their self-titled debut disc New York's Slow Horse merge the slow, heavy dirge of doom with the more melodic, fuzzed-out elements of stoner rock to create 40 minutes of some of the most intense music out there. Lyrically guitarist/vocalist Daniel Bukszpan digs deeply into his personal life with several cuts dwelling of a failed relationship in anything but a tearful manner. Alongside the five originals, Slow Horse also throws in a superb 6 1/2 minute version of Chris Isaak's hit "Wicked Game" taking it to a completely different level of morose.
