Man Is The Bastard
Mancruel (Deep Six Records)

By: Jeb Branin

This CD should be a "must own" for every fan of the extreme underground. It collects remixed and remastered versions of the songs from the MITB splits with Bleeding Rectum and Capitalist Casualties (some of their most ferocious tuneage ever), throws in three unavailable noise pieces (for the Bastard Noise crowd) and even unveils a cranium crushing track called "Hitler and Me" that is available here for the first time. Even if you own the represented splits, this CD is a keeper but if you don't this needs to go right next to the "DIY" CD on your list of "beg, borrow or steal a copy" MITB releases. It was material like this that is the justification that hacks like me use when declaring MITB to be one of the greatest hardcore bands ever.
