Red To Violet
Red To Violet (Red To Violet)

By: Alex Steininger

Red To Violet's self-titled full-length is a well-written, well put together pop record led by a female with a passionate voice an obvious love for what she is doing musically. However, despite being well-written and well put together, Red To Violet come off as a pop band without pop hooks, a fact that hinders them from really making an impact.

If you listen long and hard enough, the songs will grow on you and you'll start to really enjoy them. However, if you're in for the casual listens, the more and more you listen to the album you'll get frustrated and eventually give up. It offers no compelling reason to listen to it other than it is solid and consistent throughout, which, unfortunately, isn't enough to grab your ears when it needs to do so. I'll give it a C.15
