The Appleseed Cast Low Level Owl: Volume II (Deep Elm Records) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
The Appleseed Cast writes airy, lo-fi indie-emo songs soaked in emotion that isn't afraid to branch out and meander a bit for fun. Whenever they just jam, they do so for fun, but also to establish atmosphere and to give you something to soak in. They are a bit on the slower side, writing songs that crawl and build, giving you the most impact with every note. However, when they want things to get edgy or a bit rougher, they know how to do so, while still keeping things sedated and laid-back. They don't yell, scream, or kick your ass with loud guitars, but they sure know how to make noise and bring you into their world. I'll give it a B.
