Seven Story Dividing By Zero (Deep Elm) By: Alex Steininger
Winding, noisy, and as loose as can be, Seven Story create party time rock to get you going. No matter what mood you're in, you put in their record, listen as the band wails away on their instruments, and can't help but really want to move. They're not the best band, by any stretch of the imagination, nor do they really leave a lasting impression. But when you crank them loud, you're sure to have a good time. They avoid the emo tag by playing monstrously loud and without any real focal point. Their light song structures give the band room to roam, from hard rock to soft, poppy songs overshadowed by guitar-rock through quirky noise, they always seem to be able to improvise for the situation and deliver something that will make you stop and listen. I'll give this a C+.
