A tasty, if somewhat provocatively titled little 4-song appetizer to tide us 'til we're served this loungecore duo's next full-course release, "Harder Than Your Husband" continues in the melodically enticing vein Lane Steinberg and Steve Barry have been working within for several years already. The difference this time is total use of the two's remarkable songwriting skills, without once resorting to chestnuts from the F. Zappa or even R. Stones repertoires.
Most obvious standouts then? "I Dreamt I Was Joseph E. Levine" (the great lost -- vintage '66, I'll have you all know! -- Association hit if ever there was one) and especially "It Doesn't Snow In New York Anymore" (an utterly beautiful Fred Neil meets Emmit Rhodes charmer, absolutely cinematic in its breadth and sonic scope).
Yessir, Lane and Steve have done it yet again.
And P.S. to New Yorkers: Don't wait another second to catch these two live on stage too!
