 Grammy award winning percussionist Joe Cripps and Screaming Trees drummer/percussionist Barrett Martin met during a diplomacy mission between the U.S. and Cuba in 1999, instantly hitting it off. With the help of fellow musicians Craig Flory, Kevin Hudson, and Alex Veley, they set out to create a new flavor in the world of world music. Fusing African and Caribbean rhythms with traditional world music, they come up with an international melting pot of a variety of sounds and flavors, creating both mellow and danceable grooves, on their latest, Alchemy. I'll give this a B+.
