Lifehouse
Stanley Climbfall (Dreamworks Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Propelled by the single, "Hanging by A Moment," Lifehouse's 2000 debut, "No Name Face", earned the band platinum status. The follow-up, Stanley Climbfall is equally infectious, backed by the same modern rock assault of loud, but not too loud guitars, a steady rhythm section, and plenty of pop. What you get when you listen to Lifehouse is lifeless, but catchy songs that are bled dry until there are no emotions left, then glossed up for radio. But, during the process, plenty of hooks are hatched and you can hear as they grow, laying eggs themselves in your head - and that is when it is all over. A few radio hits will find their way from this album, and you'll know them when you catch yourself singing along. Just like with "Hanging by A Moment". I'll give this a C.
