Ted Nugent
Craveman (Spitfire Records)

By: Alex Steininger

The Motor City Madman's back and he's back with a vengeance. The gun-lovin', hunt-to-kill, beef eatin' sex manic rocker harnesses the power of his big mouth into big rock, delivering a hard & heavy record of pure old school metal on Craveman. From the honest, yet perverted melodic crunch of "Pussywhipped" and the heavy load of "Cum N Gitya Sum-O-This" through the screamer "My Baby Likes My Butter On Her Gritz". Nugent takes metal to places it has been before, covering topics with just as much perversion and wild antics as everyone else, and yet still, somehow, seems to stand out and avoid sounding generic - even though this album screams generic. Maybe it's his persona, his lewd-ness, or his ability to put his money where his mouth is when it comes to rocking hard and long. No matter what it is, Craveman is fun, at the very least. I'll give it a C+.
