 Bringing new wave back to the forefront of indie, Seattle's Dirtnap Records seems to find the bands that are comprised of ex punk rockers looking for something more. Stumbling onto new wave, they give it a try and discover they're pretty damn good at it. Their latest is The Cripples, a raw, infectious combo that plays with the intensity of punkers, but with their mind and music on the new wave, synth-driven sounds. As they explore and rock out, they hit the jackpot, getting you singing along, dancing, and smiling. I'll give this a B.
