The Weekend E.P. (Vagrant)

 Four new pop-punk songs from Vagrant's Hey Mercedes, which features former members of the respectable indie outfit Braid, The Weekend E.P. leaves much to be desired. Their melodies are sharp. The hooks present. And the rock is lively. It's the emo-spirited vocals, though, that take the songs down a notch, turning the otherwise catchy pop-punk songs into emo-punk as they grate on your nerves. Still, a respectable CD from musicians with a past that nobody can balk at. I'll give it a C+.
