Barbershop (MGM)

 Didn't I just slam another wannabe Friday? Oh, yeah, Jive Chicken (reviewed someplace else in this ish). Barbershop tried to be Friday with heart and comes off like a cheesy Tuesday. Sure, it has its moments, but the warmed over sentiments and casting of yet another rapper (Eve AND Ice Cube...when did rapping become interchangeable with acting?) make this more forgettable pandering to black audiences (and white ones that wish they were black). Save your money and rent one of Cube's better films like--Friday. C-
