Paper Lions
The Symptom and the Sick (Kindercore)

 Lightweight hardcore with a foot in the post-punk door, Paper Lions' blast out punk-influenced post-punk brought up on hardcore, a sound that offers a few melodic moments amongst the chaos, the screaming guitars (and vocals), crashing drums, and thundering bass all coming together for the common good of the song. The one down fall is the vocals, a bit too snotty, and too much shouting, to really compliment the songs. While the band plays their heart out, switching off between slightly melodic and dissonant mayhem, the vocals take things down a notch. I'll give it a C.
