The Building Press Amplitude Of Frequencies Over Time (Woodson Lateral) By: Alex Steininger
Instrumental indie-rock that goes from attacking your aural senses to confusing them, The Building Press' Amplitude Of Frequencies Over Time is a slow burning record, weaving between the rock side and the atmospheric, acid-y indie-jam portion of the album. It is when these two sides collide that things get interesting, and start to heat up. The band has the chops to carry out their concoctions, and they do. The only part this album is lacking in is staying power. After awhile it starts to grate on you and you feel as if you can't take anymore. Up until then, though, the ride is pleasant, if not a bit daunting. I'll give it a C-.
