Beautifulstakesandpowerpoles (Wild Hotels of the Sea)

 Mid-tempo, melodic indie-rock with a mid-fi sound (not quite lo-fi, but definitely not hi-fi), the shoegazer-influenced band's Beautifulstakesandpowerpoles is a timid, tempered record that can bob from a fuzzy rocker to a light, air song, often in one song. The record has the charm and the potential. Still a budding band, they seem to be coming into their own as the crashing noise and subtleties learn to live together peacefully. I'll give it a B-.
