Vic Bondi/Articles of Faith Fortunate Son CD-EP (Alternative Tentacles) By: Jeb Branin
This is an interesting release. The Vic Bondi of 2003 doing a split with himself - the Vic Bondi 20 years ago (while fronting ARTICLES OF FAITH circa 1983). You get two songs from Vic in 2003, one of which is CCR's timeless critique of social class in America, "Fortunate Son." His deep throbbing punk rawk is reminiscent of the grimy Detroit sound. It is good but (unfortunately?) pales in comparison to the ripping AOF tracks. AOF are classic and their music has remained relevant for two decades. Two AOF discography discs have recently been released by Alternative Tentacles, and although this CDEP is a worthy addition to your collection, the AOF discs should take precedence on your shopping list.
