Lanky Inner Onwriter (Imposter Records) By: Alex Steininger
Lanky's Inner Onwriter is a decent album. It's honest, warm, sunshine-filled pop-rock with beautiful vocals, and a rustic, Americana touch to the acoustic based pop. However, nothing really jumps out and grabs you, nor do you feel compelled to sing along. It's perfect background music to put on softly while you go about your day, but as far as commanding attention, the songwriting just doesn't reach for you. Still, you can't help but think that Lanky will get there, as they have almost every other element in their hearty, acoustic and electric-based pop-rock sound to make the leap. I'll give it a C-.
