The Heavenly States The Heavenly States (Future Farmer) By: Alex Steininger
The Heavenly States' self-titled debut is pop-rock, if you want to be limiting. More than that, it is a melody-filled, often times crushing guitars rock explosion, rooted in melody. Able to weave from jangle-y to sweeping, soft and hard, the album has diversity, helping them become more than your average pop-rock band. Some may call it indie-rock. Yes, that too would fit - if you want to be limiting. Again, they're so much more than that, for all the reasons described above. Think indie-rock, but with more melody, and pop-rock that is too edgy and hard-hitting to be just that. I'll give it a B-.
