Sweeper demo (Are You Listening) By: Alex Steininger

Sweeper, originally the name of front man Simon Widdowson's latest solo record, evolved into a band when Widdowson realized the band he was playing with (his solo band) wasn't what he was after. With a new line-up, he felt the songs, and the band, were more than just a solo project, so he re-named the group Sweeper. Now, on their debut demo, Widdowson offers four songs of sharp prowess, including stellar lyrics, sweet melodies, and enough contrast - front the opening rocker, "Call Out A Rescue", to the meditative "Killing The Very Thing" - to make things extremely interesting and pleasing to the ears. Here's a beautiful, highly-anticipated full-length. I'll give this a B.
