Wesley Willis Greatest Hits Volume 3 (Alternative Tentacles) By: Jeb Branin

The success of Wesley Willis amongst punks might be a moot point - are punks listening to him because of his inimitable style or because they are amused by the ramblings of a man with a mental illness? How much of his appeal was real and how much was a product of, for lack of a better word, "exploitation"? Is the emperor wearing new clothes or running around in his undies? Maybe a better question is: Now that Wesley Willis has passed away and is in a better place, does it even matter?
