Race for Titles Race for Titles (Redemption) By: Alex Steininger
Slightly spacey, sparking indie rock, Race for Titles' self-titled full-length is equal parts emo and shoe-gazer, delivering a heart-on-the-sleeve punch while backing it up with their shoe-gazer leanings. That's not to say the band can't rock. They have their rock moments. However, they prefer to subdue them, using guitar lines alongside mid-tempo rhythms to draw their message to life and effect you that much more. It drags at times, but, for the most part, they make things beautiful enough to keep you interested. I'll give it a B-.
