 This is great. Every fan of thrash knows that where the music has its heart is in basements, squats, and storage units all over the world, where a thousand unknown bands play ferocious hardcore that is more intense and more threatening than pretty much everything that gets released by large labels. The Clearly Prespin 7" from GOAT SHANTY is the prototype of basement thrash. Raging music, played with utter abandon and rampant ire! The band manages enough distinction to not be faceless, but retain enough purity to remind you what it was about this kind of music that first sent you digging through distro bins at seedy, illegal gigs.
