Pretty Suicide Suicide Shot (self-released) By: Mike SOS
NYC hard rockers Pretty Suicide have a big '80s arena sound that makes SUICIDE SHOT sound as if you know the songs by heart already. It also validates the feeling you'll get to pump your fist in the air and rock. The 13-track (plus three remixes) release showcase bluesy guitars a la AC/DC in such tunes as "Do You Want It?" backed by sassy female vocals that sound like a cross between Deborah Harry and Pat Benatar. Walking the line between the sleazier glam metal, bubble gum rock, and NYC garage rock, Pretty Suicide's concoction of rock 'n' roll is honest and forthright, sounding like a cross between Dial MTV from 1987 and CBGB's circa 1982. Nothing too serious or foreboding here, just three guys and a gal kicking back and providing a high energy shot of rock.
