Almost Automatic (Act Your Age Records)

 The Business Machines' Almost Automatic is the result of heavy metal and punk coming together in a generic, run-of-the-mill fashion. Here is a band that plays loud and fast without saying much, using the noise and power of the songs to hide behind the lack of anything else. That's not to say that is horrible, or the death of the band. After all, this is rock 'n' roll. It's good to crank at loud volumes if you want to get you the blood pumping or break things, but if you want to listen to it for something more than its surface, you'll be sorely disappointed. I'll give it a C-.
