Ben Arthur
Edible Darling (Bardic Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Adult contemporary pop with a hand in the folk and roots realm too, Ben Arthur's Edible Darling is a cool breeze of fresh melodies, bouncy acoustic beats, and light-hearted, good-natured fun. Here is a record you can sing along too, put on to mellow out with, or just put on because you want a friend coming out of your speaker. It's inviting, pleasant, and well-written. It's the type of record that would find a nice home on contemporary pop radio outlets, but it's also a nice record to play in your car, with the top down, as you drive along the mountainside. Both are rooted in the organic beauty of life and nature, and both bring it all together. I'll give it a B.
