The Red Sector The Red Sector (self-released) By: Alex Steininger

Portland trio The Red Sector kick out the jams with their modern-rock charged, bull-dozing rock sound of crunchy guitars, sparkling melodies, and pristine production. The music isn't original or groundbreaking in any sense of the word, and it is rather straight-forward and predictable. But it is in this simplicity the band thrives, creating a propulsive sound that is aggressive and energetic, poppy, yet hard, ensuring the band will have many an A&R ears turned as they spin a hook and make you sing along. I'll give it a C+.
