Man Man The Man in a Blue Turban With a Face (Ace Fu) By: Alex Steininger

Imaginative, eerie, and mystical, Man Man's self-titled full-length combines all these emotions - and more - into a startling eleven tracks, ensuring that the musical circus freak show that is Man Man gives you goose bumps more than a few times throughout this record. Using sounds as a collage, with talking (and obscured singing) over the compositions, the band is able to create a hodge-podge, melting pot of influences, the outcome a diverse, completely originally experimental statue of sound that will leave you floored, in both good and bad ways. Lacking direction and dissident at best, it is a hard swallow, but an interesting journey even when you don't understand. I'll give it a C+.
