The Scaries
Souvenir (Law of Inertia)

 Emo-charged, punk-infused guitar-rock, The Scaries'Souvenir is loaded with bleeding hearts, pain, anguish, and youthfulness. But, beyond that, it does have aggression, energy, and a melodic spirit pulsating through its blood. However, the standard emo traps apply here and take the band down a notch, as they fail to stand out from the crowd and become just another emo band. When they're on though, I mean really on, as they are on a few tracks, they manage to give this theory a run for its money. Too bad the majority of the album doesn't hold up to the highlights. I'll give it a C-.
