Bonk Western Soul (Racing Junior) By: Alex Steininger
Bonk is at once straight ahead, loud, excitable rock music with volume and power. But, it is also anything but straight ahead, adding a weird element with a nearly spoken word vocalist "singing" along with the other vocalist, before dropping it and having the spoken word vocalist sing normally along with the music. It is this oddity that makes Bonk instantly weird and alluring. At first it is quite off putting, disturbing you from the otherwise aggressive, head-on attack of rock provided by the music. But, then it becomes weirdly enjoyable, and that is the essence of Bonk. Confusing, startling, and then endurable. I'll give it a B-.
