Pine Hill Haints / Clampitt, Gaddis, & Buck
The Pine Hill Haints meet Clampitt, Gaddis, & Buck (LELP Recordings)

By: Alex Steininger

A split EP between Pine Hill Haints and Clampitt, Gaddis, & Buck where each group covers one of the other group's songs, and offers two of their own up. Clampitt, Gaddis, & Buck, who start of the EP with their three songs, start off the set with "Your Wicked Heart", originally by the Pine Hill Haints. The Pine Hill Haints, who have the next three songs, also begin with their cover, choosing Clampitt, Gaddis, & Buck's "Homeward Track".

Playing bluegrass music, Clampitt, Gaddis, & Buck deliver three songs that make you want to get up and dance. While The Pine Hill Haints, with their brand of old-times blues-infused country-folk sit you back down and make you soak up the sounds with your bottle of moonshine firmly in your hands.

Both bands deliver three songs, putting their best feet forward, and creating the sounds of bluegrass and traditional country in a way that makes them sound as if they were recorded decades ago, but with enough of a fresh voice to make you embrace their updated tint. I'll give this a B.
