Garbage Bleed Like Me (Geffen Records) By: Alex Steininger
Garbage has outdone themselves on their latest, Bleed Like Me, the band's best record in a handful of years. Refreshed, and with a new sense of energy, Garbage are at the top of their game, Butch Vig, Shirley Manson, and company create a hard-hitting, melodic blast of pop-rock tinged with industrial rock. The outcome a shiny, but plenty powerful guitar-rock record that is neither short on melody nor roughness. From the opening of "Bad Boyfriend" through the hard rock infused "Why Do you Like Me", or the industrial-pop "Sex Is Not The Enemy", the album is littered with hits and should find Garbage once again dominating the charts. Bleed Like Me proves that, like wine, Garbage is getting better with age. I'll give it a B+.
