Jim Boggia
Safe In Sound (Bluhammock Music)

By: Alex Steininger

If you're looking for a good mix of singer-songwriter acoustic pop and blistering, crunchy power-pop, Jim Boggia is your ticket. His sophomore album, Safe In Sound, showcases his pop sensibilities, as he weaves between light, adult pop with a twist ("Once"), rocking power-pop ("Underground"), acoustic folk with gorgeous harmonies ("Talk About The Weather"), and relaxing pop grooves ("Final Word"). Here is a pop songsmith that knows how to do a variety of music styles and make them sugary sweet. Filled with memorable lyrics, Boggia's strong, breathy voice, and majestic pop, Safe In Sound is one of the year's best pop albums. Hands down. I'll give it a B+.
