POEM: Appetite for Music

A single sound addressed by another
the rumble underlying even lower
simmering methodically together
to form another unique hale.A steamy riff sailing over melody
giving birth to a different reality
to create a state of tranquility
or a completely opposite result.
The mind will decipher this key
making sense of it's originality.
How is this going to affect me?
It's a powerful and unpredictable call
This power can quickly surround
have us move helplessly around
give in to it's unquenchable sound
depending on the taste or emotion.
If there are lyrics stirred in
the pleasure can become sin
forever trapped willfully within
and this power will intoxicate.
So many diverse inclinations
left to dissolve under tongues.
The festival has just begun
and for some it's still playing.
The connoisseurs will abide
linking the shores of each mind
to the overwhelming force inside
the language of music!
