Bracket
When All Else Fails (Fat Wreck)

By: Alex Steininger

Bracket's brand of pop-punk is nothing spectacular. Let's not lie. It's nothing new or innovative or anything different than what is already abundantly available on the market. So, why should you give a fuck and give it a listen? Well, where bad pop-punk fails, in the energy and excitement categories, Bracket nails them head on. Tight, catchy pop-punk with enough humor to keep you smiling, and enough real life for you to relate too, When All Else Fails serves up the sugary pop-punk with loads of caffeine and just doesn't let you stop eating until you've swallowed the last bite.

"Everyone Is Telling Me I'll Never Win, If I Fall In Love With A Girl From Marin" wins with lines like "Your shit stained smile is out of style/ It's been that way for quite a while". And Fat Mike's standard pop-punk, three chord, heavily distorted guitar on "No Brainer" (which he co-wrote with the band) gives the album a few credibility points, ensuring it stands out from all the other fucking pop-punk albums out there. I'll give it a B.
