Dean Osborne
Kentucky Son (Pinecastle)

By: Alex Steininger

Dean Osborne's Kentucky Son is as bluegrass as they come these days. Crisp, clean, and sturdy, his voice holds up, as do the harmonies, through radiant bluegrass that travels through moments of swift passion and soft, breezy love, all of which are easy to tap your feet and dance with.

Whether he is harmonizing around his banjo or making the song follow his fast picking leads, Dean Osborne and his music never falter. His sweet Kentucky voice is as fresh as the morning air and as warm as the afternoon sun.

Down home and friendly, the music is always filled with warmth, inviting you in regardless of the mindset you're in. Forget your worries, put the album on, turn it up, and sit back and let Dean, his voice, his banjo, and the backing music erase your troubles for an hour as you let the music live inside of you. I'll give it a B+.
