 Lightning fast picker Joe Maphis truly was the "King of the Strings." From the banjo to the guitar, if it had strings, he could master it, especially the double-necked guitar that made him an everlasting icon on the country music scene. The re-release of Fire On The Strings, with seven bonus tracks, makes this nineteen track instrumental a stomping good time. From rollicking bluegrass to stinging country, as well as some rock-a-billy fire here and there, Fire on the Strings translates into fire on the feet as you burn holes in your soles (and souls) dancing and sweating along with the music. I'll give it an A-.
