Wellington
Self-titled (Deep Six Records)

By: Jeb Branin

If you ever wondered on what foundation UNRUH was able to build their incredibly dense sound just check out this discography CD from WELLINGTON. This pre-UNRUH band was to sludge what a meatgrinder is to a cow. This CD collects everything the band ever recorded, including a previously unreleased song. WELLINGTON cranked a totally warped and totally devastating sound. If FLIPPER had been influenced by GRIEF (instead of the other way around) they would have sounded like this. Truth be told, in many ways I prefer this to UNRUH (who I think are amazing) so I am very pleased that the band and Deep Six saw fit to put this out! I love when you put on a CD and it beats the hell out of you... don't you?
