Paramore
whatyoudon'tknow (Ammonite Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Sunny, bouncy indie pop with plenty of charm, Paramore's debut, whatyoudon'tknow, is an infectious, shining example of clever pop smarts and an impeccable taste for everything sweet. From the opening of "Asleep All Day," a charged power-pop song so glossy you can't but enjoy its shiny, adorable surface, to the distorted roar of "Falling Away," this is an intoxicating debut from a band poised to break and collect fans everywhere they go. Definitely not to be missed, this is pop music alone on an island by itself, careful, but carefree, delivering intelligent hooks and undeniable melodies. I'll give it an A.
