15Just My Type (Pinch Hit Records)

15By: Alex Steininger
15My first rule in music is NEVER compare your band to The Replacements. Too often the comparison ends up being comparable to a 3-year old kid's crayon drawing on the placemat at Denny's with his/her parents telling the child the art is just like Picasso.

1515Pinch Hit Record's name-dropping The Mats in reference to Punchy is just that. Punchy is a bad, roots-rock band that plays with the intensity of an over-the-hill bar rock band struggling to get even their friends to pay attention to them.

1515Lyrically, they run the gamut from cliched to dull, and hitting every mark in between. This is lifeless music so stuck in a rut, you can't help but cry at their efforts to craft something more than a hook-less, lyrically-void album that only nears 'punchy' when it comes to cleaning out your pants. I'll give this an F.
