 Jazzy, funk-induced acid pop, Topaz's The Zone is a good time party record, one that wouldn't be out of place on a porno soundtrack, or at a swinging party where everyone is mingling, getting drunk, and having a good time. From the hot saxophone to the undeniably funky rhythm section, through the Wurlitzer-laced grooves, and the smokin' trumpet, Topaz has no problem getting the party started, the groove established, and happy faces on anyone within ear shot of the record. This is hot, good time party music for the soul. I'll give it an A.
